Prism Rhino was created in response to the crisis facing rhinos around the world. This painting is a celebration of their strength and dignity, but also a reminder of their fragility. Rhinos have walked the earth for over 50 million years, yet today they depend almost entirely on human protection for survival.

In this piece, I wanted to show more than the weight of the animal, I wanted to show the weight of the moment. His body is painted in shifting sweeps of violet, lemon and cool blue, colours that refract like light passing through glass. He stands in an ethereal space, half-formed and half-fading, symbolising the delicate line between what still exists and what we risk losing.

The brushwork is loose but deliberate: energetic strokes to reflect his power, softer translucent layers to express vulnerability. His eye is gentle and reflective, as though aware of the world watching him.

This painting is a tribute to the profound, ancient wisdom these animals carry, and to the hope that their story is still being written.
